What is the Watertype Collection?
The Watertype Collection by Oddly Oaktree is a salute to the prefered liquid of humanity—at least historically speaking. Yes, in the choas of the modern world, we often favour the liquids with flavour, but even still, water is at the core of all things moist!
The pieces in this fine digital art collection take inspiration from a variety of sources; from Art Deco to Digital Brutalism. Artist Djon Zimbdenburg of Oddly Oaktree believes in using his maximalist, anti-design art as a means of destroying the minimalist corporate kitch plaging contemporary aesthetics.
Zimbdenburg calls this post-modern maximalist revival, "Neo-Rococo". It's an art movement so over the top art and eccentric, no corporation will ever embrace it. Because if art isn't completely alienating, is it even art?
